Scoring

NBDE is a pass or fail exam. A student would not receive any numeric score if he has passed the examination. Incase of a failed result, a detailed numeric score is provided to the student.

The total score of candidates is computed by the number of total correct answers. The thus obtained score is converted to a scale score ranging from 49 to 99. A score more than 75 is reported as pass, but numeric is not revealed. In case of a score less than 75, you are reported as fail and a section wise score for each discipline covered in the exam is revealed.

Students are not allowed to retake the test once they are passed. Failed students may retake the test after 90 days from date of previous test. If a student fails in three successive attempts, he can only re-apply after 12 month gap.

JCDNE has ‘5 year or 5 attempt’ rule which states that a candidate must clear the exam within five years or five attempts (whichever comes first) or there can be no further attempt.
